Egypt's Ministry of Social Solidarity launches economic empowerment initiative

The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity organized a three-day training workshop for journalists and media professionals to introduce the ‘Strategic Financial System for Economic Empowerment’. The program aims to shift the ministry’s focus from providing traditional social support to fostering economic empowerment and production, helping target groups achieve self-reliance.

Ayman Abdel Mawgood, the ministry’s permanent undersecretary and spokesperson, emphasized the importance of digital transformation in managing data and improving service efficiency. The workshop also highlighted the roles of various specialized funds within this strategic framework.

Zeina Tawakkol, Executive Director of the ‘Qaderoon Bekhtelaf’ Fund, detailed the fund’s efforts to provide integrated protection and social development for persons with disabilities, including economic, health, and educational support. Additionally, Engy El Yamani, Executive Director of the ‘Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund’, explained the mechanisms for coordinating national efforts to reduce poverty and reach the most needy areas.
