Egypt's Ministry of Supply seizes subsidized flour in Dakahlia and Ismailia

The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade carried out intensive inspections in Egypt's Dakahlia governorate over a week, issuing 447 violations at municipal bakeries for issues such as under‑weight loaves, misuse of subsidised flour and hygiene breaches. Public markets faced 111 violations for missing price displays, lack of health certificates and the sale of unverified goods, while 21 violations were recorded against supply traders and four against petroleum dealers, including the seizure of 1,383 L of 80‑octane gasoline and 939 L of solar fuel.

In the neighboring Ismailia governorate, the same ministry seized 20 tonnes of subsidised flour that had been diverted to the black market and three tonnes of animal feed without documentation. Inspectors also recorded 15 bakery‑related violations, ranging from non‑compliant bread weight to missing price boards and unsanitary equipment. Legal actions have been initiated against the offenders, and the confiscated goods are being held for prosecution.
