Egypt's Monufia Health Directorate shuts down unlicensed clinic run by fake dermatologist

The Monufia governorate’s Health Directorate carried out a surprise inspection that resulted in the closure of a private medical clinic operating without a license. Officials discovered that the clinic was managed by a woman who was impersonating a dermatologist and practising medicine without any legal qualification.

The operation was conducted under instructions from Health Minister Khaled Abdel‑Gafar and Monufia Governor Amr Al‑Gharib, with deputy health minister Amr Mustafa overseeing the raid. Inspectors, led by Dr Fatma Ghanem, found the premises violated Law No. 415 of 1954 governing the practice of medicine. Legal proceedings were initiated and the case was referred to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.

The crackdown is part of a broader campaign to eliminate illegal medical practices and protect public health in the region.
