Egypt's Planning Minister Ahmed Rustom Boosts Regional Development Cooperation
Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Ahmed Rustom, held a series of high‑level meetings during the United Nations High‑Level Political Forum in New York. He met with Tunisia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdel Hafiz, to expand institutional cooperation, share quantitative‑study expertise and discuss medium‑term development planning and performance‑budgeting tools.
Rustom also met the head of the UN Joint SDG Fund, Lisa Corbiel, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to its voluntary national report and seeking fund support for the country’s integrated financing strategy. Additional talks with Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al‑Khalif, and Austria’s Minister of European Affairs, Claudia Power, focused on bilateral economic dialogue, capacity‑building and resilient macro‑economic planning amid regional geopolitical tensions.
