Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi directs boost in rare‑earth mining

Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mahmoud Osbat visited the Nuclear Materials Authority to review progress on projects extracting rare‑earth minerals and critical elements from nine field centers across the country. He received a briefing from Authority head Dr. Hamed Mera on exploration, evaluation, extraction and processing activities that support modern electronic and high‑technology industries.

The minister emphasized the presidential directive from President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi to accelerate actions that increase economic and strategic returns from these resources. Plans include expanding exploration, establishing dedicated economic entities for investment, and deploying advanced technologies to raise the quality and global‑standard compliance of the extracted materials.
