Egypt's Sisi at G7 Summit Boosts Cairo's Diplomatic Standing

President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi attended the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Evian, France, where he met U.S. President Donald Trump and other world leaders. Egyptian politicians, including Senator Afet al‑Sadat of the Sadat Democratic Party, Senator Osama Medkour of the Future of the Nation Party, and Senator Omar al‑Ghanimi, hailed the participation as evidence of Egypt’s rising influence in regional security, economic development and diplomatic mediation.

The officials said the summit underscored Egypt’s role as a “peace and stability” force, citing the country’s balanced relations with major powers and its contributions to discussions on energy security, food security, climate change and the Palestinian issue. They emphasized that Sisi’s bilateral meetings reflected growing international trust in Cairo’s ability to manage complex regional challenges.
