Egypt's Qalyubia Governor Orders Removal of Hundreds of Illegal Buildings During Eid

Governor Dr. Hossam Abdel‑Fattah of Egypt's Qalyubia Governorate directed a full‑scale enforcement campaign throughout the Eid al‑Adha holidays to eradicate illegal construction and land encroachments. In Benha, authorities removed two violations covering about 150 m², while across the governorate teams dismantled 44 cases of unauthorized building amounting to more than 6,000 m², including structures on agricultural land in Shibin El‑Qanatir, Qalioub, Al‑Khanqah, and other towns. The operations involved local police, agricultural administration, and land‑protection units, which seized building materials, dismantled illegal extensions, and initiated legal actions against the offenders. The governor emphasized continuous, round‑the‑clock vigilance to protect state‑owned and agricultural lands and to enforce the rule of law.
