Egypt's Red Sea Governorate and Ministry of Social Solidarity launch development plan for Halayeb and Shalateen
Governor Dr. Walid Al‑Barqi of Egypt's Red Sea governorate met with Deputy Minister Margaret Saroufi of the Ministry of Social Solidarity to discuss a new package of development projects targeting families in the border towns of Halayeb and Shalateen. The plan aims to boost economic empowerment, create sustainable jobs, and expand small‑scale production that leverages local resources and traditional crafts, especially those of women.
The meeting also saw the opening of a new Family Development Clinic in Hurghada, operated by the Al‑Daqaq Al‑Idrisi Health Care Foundation. The clinic is the third of its kind in the city and part of a nationwide programme to establish 40 clinics across 13 governorates, improving reproductive health services and family planning for underserved communities.
