Egyptian officials said President Abdel Fattah Sisi’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit underscored Egypt’s growing regional influence and its strategic partnership with the United States. Member of parliament Imad Al‑Ghanimi described the encounter as a “politically important” signal of Egypt’s status as a key partner in promoting stability in the Middle East, noting continued cooperation on issues such as the Nile dam dispute and broader security challenges.

Parliamentarian Walaa Al‑Sabban added that the bilateral talks reflected deep‑ening trust between Cairo and Washington and highlighted Egypt’s role in supporting political solutions and diplomatic de‑escalation across the region. Both statements emphasized Egypt’s commitment to dialogue, respect for sovereignty and its contribution to peace‑building efforts.
