Egypt conducts organized second‑phase middle school certificate exams

On Sunday 26 July 2026 Egypt held the second phase of the 2026 middle school certificate (الشهادة الإعدادية) examinations across multiple governorates, including Cairo, Gharbia, Damietta and the Red Sea region. Education authorities, led by the Minister of Education and the governor of Cairo, established a central operations room and subsidiary rooms in each directorate to monitor the distribution of exam papers, ensure timely delivery, and maintain security and confidentiality.

In Cairo, students sat for the social studies paper from 09:00–11:00 and the computer‑technology paper from 11:30–12:30. Officials reported a calm, disciplined atmosphere, with no complaints registered, and emphasized provision of a comfortable environment for all candidates. Similar coordination and field inspections were carried out in other provinces to guarantee smooth conduct of the exams.
