Egypt's Social Solidarity Minister attends Misr El Kheir Award ceremony

Egypt's Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, attended the closing ceremony of the seventh edition of the Misr El Kheir Award for Leadership in Sustainable Charitable and Developmental Giving. The event was attended by various officials, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Jawhar Nabil, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Misr El Kheir Foundation, Dr. Ali Gomaa.

During the ceremony, Minister Morsy emphasized that civil society work in Egypt has evolved into a fundamental component of the national development and social protection system. She noted that there are approximately 36,000 associations and institutions currently active in the country.

Morsy highlighted a significant shift toward a more organized system based on four pillars: community support, partnership for development, governance, and transparency. She stated that efforts have been made to regularize the status of these associations in accordance with Law No. 149 of 2019 to ensure efficiency, resource management, and measurable impact.
