Egypt's Umrah Committee finalizes regulations for 1448 AH season

The Upper Committee for Umrah and Hajj, chaired by Samia Sami, assistant minister of tourism and antiquities for tourism companies, convened with senior officials—including members of the Egyptian Tourism Chambers, religious‑tourism committees, inspection and transport directorates, and technical staff—to review the final draft of the 1448 AH Umrah season regulations.

The draft, drawn from a comprehensive review of the previous season, introduces new digital‑transformation initiatives, stricter oversight mechanisms and updated service standards. After coordinated meetings with Saudi counterparts, the committee will submit the finalized regulations to Minister Sherif Fathy for approval and prompt announcement, aiming to enhance the experience of Egyptian pilgrims.
