Egypt's Unified Procurement Authority fulfills payment promises to medical suppliers

The Unified Procurement Authority, led by Dr. Hisham Stet, has begun clearing longstanding debts owed to medical‑supplies vendors. Payments are being made in two monthly installments, a move praised by Mohammed Ismail Abdo, head of the medical‑supplies sub‑section at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, who said the steps have restored confidence among companies in the sector.

Abdo announced an upcoming meeting with Dr. Stet to discuss revising the prices of certain medical items in the new state budget, arguing that current prices do not reflect actual production costs. Both parties reaffirmed their cooperation and coordination to ensure stable supply of essential medical products to hospitals and health facilities.
