Egypt's Youth Ministry and Veterinary Doctors Union set up food‑safety protocol for sports facilities

Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Nebil Joher, met with the head of the Egyptian Veterinary Doctors Union, Dr. Majdi Hassan, and a delegation of vets to discuss a joint cooperation protocol. The proposal focuses on deploying veterinary experts to supervise food safety in youth cities, sports clubs and ministry‑run cafeterias, aiming to protect athletes and the public from food‑borne illnesses.

The draft memorandum also outlines a national awareness campaign called “Your Food is a Trust/Youth Aware, Safe Food,” veterinary outreach caravans, seminars on humane animal handling, and discounted access to ministry facilities for veterinarians and their families. Both parties agreed to form a joint committee to finalize technical and administrative guidelines before signing the protocol.
