Egzon Shallki sentenced to 25 years for killing Auron Ferizi
Egzon Shallki has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the killing of 20-year-old Auron Ferizi in Viti. The verdict was delivered by the Gjilan Basic Court, which also ordered mandatory psychiatric treatment for Shallki to be carried out at the Forensic Psychiatry Institute in Pristina.
The incident occurred on September 8, 2025, in Viti. According to court findings, Shallki, acting with essentially diminished mental capacity and following a prior disagreement with a victim, drove his Opel Insignia toward a group of people standing near a table in a public square. After approaching the group twice without contact, he accelerated and steered into them on the third attempt. The collision caused minor injuries to three individuals and fatal injuries to Auron Ferizi, who died two days later at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.
Prior to the sentencing, Auron’s father, Arton Ferizi, had issued an emotional plea to judicial institutions, calling for a decision based strictly on facts, evidence, and the law to ensure justice for his son.
