EH Bildu demands parliamentary appearance regarding Osakidetza sexual harassment case

The political coalition EH Bildu has requested a parliamentary appearance for Health Minister Alberto Martínez and Osakidetza Director Lorea Bilbao. The request follows allegations from several nurses in Bilbao regarding sexual harassment by a physician.

EH Bildu is seeking clarification on the measures taken by the Basque health service following the complaints. The coalition has raised concerns over reports that the accused physician was promoted to a position within the General Directorate, rather than facing disciplinary action. Under Osakidetza regulations, if a sexual harassment case involves a management-level position, the file must be reported to the Basque Government's Public Ethics Commission.

Parliamentarian Rebeka Ubera stated that previous responses from the Health Minister have been “superficial” and have failed to provide concrete details regarding the actions taken by the health service.
