EH Bildu presents candidates for general elections

The Basque nationalist coalition EH Bildu has presented its candidates for the upcoming general elections, positioning itself as the primary left-wing force in the Basque Country and Navarre.

During a meeting in Vitoria, spokesperson Eva López de Arroyabe asserted that EH Bildu represents the true 'broad front' in the region, aiming to prevent the rise of the far-right. She emphasized the coalition's commitment to defending public services, specifically highlighting their efforts to increase widowhood pensions and link salary revaluations to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

In Donostia, Secretary General Arnaldo Otegi stated that the party's goal is to defend the interests of the Basque people and prevent a 'FeiVox' government. Otegi described the coalition as a 'Km0' national Basque left that seeks to expand its pluralism. The approved candidate lists include Oihana Etxebarrieta for Gipuzkoa, Oskar Matute for Bizkaia, Mikel Otero for Álava, and Eneka Maiz for Navarra.
