EHang launches Global Fast Track Program for pilotless eVTOLs

EHang Holdings Limited has launched its Global Fast Track Program, a structured framework designed to accelerate the introduction of pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations in international markets. The program aims to compress the timeline for regulatory engagement and commercial roll-out from years to months by providing a replicable, four-phase roadmap based on EHang’s existing certifications and operational experience.

Sri Lanka has become the inaugural market for this initiative. The nation’s Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) have adopted the program, targeting sandbox commercialization within four months, pending successful regulatory, technical, and safety assessments.

This development marks a significant shift in aviation exports, as Sri Lanka is the first country to import a complete certification framework for autonomous air taxis from China. Rather than just acquiring hardware, the nation is adopting the regulatory and governance systems required to authorize and oversee unmanned passenger aerial vehicles within its borders.
