Ehime Prefectural Assembly begins September session with budget proposal

The September regular session of the Ehime Prefectural Assembly has commenced, with a proposed supplementary budget of approximately 9.9 billion yen.

The budget proposal focuses on strengthening disaster prevention and mitigation measures, allocating roughly 4.8 billion yen. This includes accelerating the installation of air conditioning in prefectural school gymnasiums to serve as evacuation centers during disasters.

Additionally, about 2.8 billion yen is earmarked for regional economic revitalization, including efforts to attract data centers. The proposal also includes an increase in the total project cost for the reconstruction of Ehime Prefectural Imabari Hospital to approximately 29.7 billion yen. The assembly session is scheduled to run until October 6.
