Şehitkamil Municipality cracks down on unlicensed valet services

Şehitkamil Mayor Umut Yılmaz has launched comprehensive inspections targeting unlicensed valet services operating in public areas. Following numerous citizen complaints, the municipality is cracking down on businesses that occupy sidewalks and public spaces for commercial valet operations without proper permits.

In coordination with the Licensing, Municipal Police (Zabıta), and Building Control Directorates, the municipality is investigating the legal status of these services. Mayor Yılmaz emphasized that public property will not be allowed to be used for private or commercial interests without authorization, stating, “I will not allow anyone to provide unlicensed and unregistered valet services. No one can lay eyes on or use public property without permission.”

The inspections aim to prevent businesses from charging fees for parking on sidewalks and to ensure that all commercial activities within the district adhere to municipal regulations.
