Eider Rodríguez releases new collection of stories ‘Era todo el mismo hueco’
Basque writer Eider Rodríguez has released her latest book, ‘Era todo el mismo hueco’ (Random House), a collection of stories exploring human complexity and the nuances of normality. The work features characters navigating marginal spaces, such as ruins, seas, and campsites, often existing in frontier locations.
In an interview following her presentation at the University of Seville’s Cultural Initiatives Center (Cicus), Rodríguez discussed her interest in non-productive spaces and characters who are displaced or searching. She noted a shift in her creative focus away from noisy urban environments toward more singular, peripheral settings. Her narratives often examine subtle emotional shifts, such as infidelity and the breakdown of friendships, without relying on traditional dramatic tropes.
