Eight cold regions in Indonesia offer temperatures as low as 9 degrees

Despite being a tropical nation, several regions in Indonesia offer significantly cooler climates due to their high altitudes. According to information shared by the official Pesona Indonesia Instagram account, eight specific areas are noted for their cool air, with some nighttime temperatures dropping as low as 9 degrees Celsius.

These destinations are spread across the archipelago, from Sumatra to Papua. Notable locations include Ruteng in East Nusa Tenggara, situated at 1,200 meters above sea level with temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, and Mamasa in West Sulawesi, located at approximately 1,900 meters above sea level with temperatures around 16 degrees Celsius. Other identified areas include Berastagi, Kota Batu, Ciwidey, Kampung Waghete, Wonosobo, and Kota Mulia.
