Eight Immortals! animation holds North American premiere

The Chinese animated comedy film ‘Eight Immortals!’ (released internationally as ‘All Wishes Come True’) held its North American premiere in Los Angeles on August 13. Distributed by CMC Pictures, the film is part of an expansive international release strategy that includes North America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands.

In China, the film has achieved significant commercial success, surpassing 1.5 billion in box office revenue and ranking among the top seven domestic animated films in the country's history. The film is noted for blending traditional Oriental aesthetics, inspired by classical landscape painting, with modern humor and relatable character dynamics. Rather than presenting mythological figures as untouchable deities, the story portrays the Eight Immortals as flawed, ordinary individuals, utilizing contemporary dialogue and internet culture to bridge cultural gaps for international audiences.
