Eight murder victims found with drug gang messages on Chiapas highway
Eight bodies – six men and two women – were discovered on the federal Jitotol‑La Cumbre road in northern Chiapas, Mexico. The victims showed signs of torture and were left with handwritten narcomessages on cardstock warning drug distributors.
The Chiapas State Attorney General opened an investigation, deploying a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with district, strategic and homicide offices, as well as the state guard and National Guard. Early evidence points to a dispute over the retail sale of crystal meth among local drug‑trafficking groups.
