Eight teenagers charged with murder after fatal Queensland party
Eight teenagers have been charged with murder following a violent incident at an Airbnb gathering in Bahrs Scrub, south of Brisbane, on July 26. Police allege the group arrived with a “preconceived plan” to inflict harm, armed with various weapons.
The victim, 21-year-old Jongkuch Peter Kur Jongkuch Achiew of Redbank Plains, sustained catastrophic head injuries during the disturbance. He was treated at Princess Alexandra Hospital but died six days later on August 1.
Following a major homicide investigation involving over 80 police officers and 14 search warrants, authorities arrested four teenagers on August 6, including two 18-year-olds and two 19-year-olds. An additional four suspects—a 17-year-old and three 18-year-olds—were located in Morayfield and charged with murder on Sunday.
The investigation, which includes the Queensland Police Organised Crime Gangs Group, is ongoing, and police have indicated that further arrests may be possible. The incident resulted in extensive damage to a local home and several vehicles.
