Eight8Ate Holdings transitions 23 stores to renewable energy

Eight8Ate Holdings Inc., the operator of Conti’s Bakeshop & Restaurant and Wendy’s Philippines, is transitioning 23 of its restaurant locations to 100% renewable energy. The transition is being facilitated through a strategic retail electricity supply agreement with ACEN RES, the retail arm of the Ayala-led energy platform ACEN.

The shift utilizes the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) and Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) frameworks. These programs allow multiple facilities to consolidate electricity demand and select licensed green suppliers directly, rather than remaining captive to local distribution utilities.

By leveraging these frameworks, Eight8Ate Holdings aims to optimize operating costs by locking in lower generation rates while reducing its carbon footprint. ACEN RES currently maintains over 7 GW of attributable renewable energy capacity across various operational and construction projects.
