Eileen Derbyshire receives personal update from family

Eileen Derbyshire, the long-time Coronation Street actress known for her role as Emily Bishop, has received a rare personal update. Her son, Oliver, shared on social media that the actress is currently living in a home for retired actors and actresses and is approaching her 95th birthday.

While clearing out her cottage, Oliver also discovered various old scripts from the show. He offered to mail a few pages to fans as mementos. Fellow soap star Sharon Marshall expressed the cast's affection for Derbyshire, noting that colleagues such as Bill Roache and Amanda Barrie have spoken warmly of her.
