Eimei High School defeats Oita Commercial 6-1 at Summer Koshien

Eimei High School from Kagawa defeated Oita Commercial High School 6-1 in the second round of the Summer Koshien baseball tournament on August 13.

Eimei took an early lead in the third inning following a double by Matsubara, scoring on a groundout by Takada. Starting pitcher Matsumoto held Oita Commercial scoreless through five innings. Eimei extended their lead with a sacrifice fly in the sixth and secured the victory with a four-run rally in the ninth inning, highlighted by a timely hit from Ikeda. Ace Tomioka, who entered in the sixth, limited Oita Commercial to a single run.

Oita Commercial, making their first appearance at the tournament in 13 years, attempted a late comeback. After Hirata took the mound in the fifth, Oita Commercial managed to score one run in the ninth via an RBI hit by Ito, but the rally fell short. Eimei advances to the third round for the first time in their summer tournament history and is scheduled to play the winner of the match between Okayama Gakugeikan and Hanamaki Higashi on August 16.
