Einar Hedegart returns to biathlon after Olympic skiing success
Norwegian athlete Einar Hedegart is returning to biathlon for the upcoming winter season, despite his recent success in cross-country skiing. Following a season where he earned two Olympic gold medals and one bronze in cross-country skiing, Hedegart has decided to commit to biathlon once again.
Hedegart expressed that he feels significant personal pressure to prove his decision was correct and to avoid failure in the sport. Because he is starting the season from a low competitive standing, his immediate goal is to qualify for the IBU Cup, the level below the World Cup, to work his way back to the elite tier.
While he has previously described himself as lacking talent in shooting, he noted that his shooting skills have exceeded expectations in training. However, he remains cautious about how his performance will hold up under the high-pressure conditions of official competition.
