Einride to deploy 500 Tesla Semi trucks in North America

Swedish autonomous transport company Einride has placed a major order for 500 Tesla Semi electric trucks to be deployed across North America. This rollout, scheduled to begin in September 2026, represents one of the largest public commitments to the Tesla Semi to date, with an estimated value between 125 million and 145 million euros.

The fleet will operate through Einride’s Saga AI platform to optimize freight operations, including route planning and charging schedules. The deployment will target major freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, and Georgia, serving customers such as Amazon. The rollout will occur in phases over the next 24 months, aiming to triple Einride’s existing electric truck fleet.

Separately, Tesla is preparing to introduce the Tesla Semi to the European market. The vehicle is expected to make its official European debut at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover, Germany, where Tesla will reveal specific European configurations and delivery timelines.
