Einride expands electric freight partnership with Lidl in Sweden

Einride has announced a major expansion of its partnership with grocery retailer Lidl in Sweden, nearly doubling annual electric freight volumes from 474,000 to 832,000 kilometers.

The expanded operations will move beyond Stockholm to include longer-haul transport across several regions, including Värmland, Östergötland, Mälardalen, Dalarna, and parts of Västergötland and Småland. The partnership, which has been active since 2020, utilizes Einride’s Freight Capacity-as-a-Service model and its Saga AI optimization platform to integrate electric trucks and charging infrastructure.

By leveraging data through Saga AI, the system aims to meet transport demand using fewer vehicles and lower energy consumption, positioning electric freight as a cost-competitive alternative to diesel.
