Eintracht Braunschweig goalkeeper Thorben Hoffmann cleared for return
Eintracht Braunschweig goalkeeper and captain Thorben Hoffmann is available for selection following a recent injury. After sustaining a cervical spine strain and a malar bone contusion during a derby match against Hannover 96, there were initial concerns regarding his availability for the upcoming fixture against Paderborn.
Coach Lars Kornetka confirmed during a press conference that Hoffmann has returned to full team training. Kornetka noted that while the injury appeared severe at the time, neurological tests and examinations indicated the situation was less critical than first feared. Hoffmann had been replaced by Benjamin Uphoff during the match, who played the remaining 30 minutes without conceding a goal.
In a separate match, Arminia Bielefeld defeated Eintracht Braunschweig 2:0, with goals from Maximilian Großer and Joel Grodowski. Following the first-half performance, Kornetka implemented a triple substitution to attempt to stabilize the team.
