Eintracht Braunschweig utilizes American football training to improve defense

Eintracht Braunschweig coach Lars Kornetka has implemented an unconventional training method to address his team's defensive struggles in the 2. Bundesliga. After conceding twelve goals across three recent competitive matches, the team sought assistance from the Braunschweig Lions, a record-winning American football team in the German Football League (GFL).

Lions coach Brayden McCombs and several players joined the professional football squad's training sessions to provide insights into defensive behavior. Kornetka noted that the session focused on aspects beyond mere tactics, including physical presence, mindset, and attentiveness. The coach aims to improve the team's ability to remain focused during critical moments, particularly during set-piece situations like corner kicks, which have contributed to recent goals conceded.
