Eintracht Frankfurt defends transfer model, seeks MCO rules and prepares under coach Hütter

Eintracht Frankfurt board spokesman Axel Hellmann defended the club’s long‑standing strategy of developing and selling top talents, describing it as the only viable model for a club of its financial size. Hellmann also warned that multi‑club ownership (MCO) threatens competitive integrity, noting that 400 European clubs are linked to 140 MCO groups and urging UEFA to impose a rule that each investor must be tied to a single club before a season starts.

Returning coach Adi Hütter expressed enthusiasm after initial training sessions, saying the team’s mood is “very good” and outlining a preseason programme that includes matches against FC Gießen, SV Waldhof Mannheim, Brentford and a DFB‑Pokal tie in August. Hellmann also ruled out a bid for the DFB presidency, stating it would be “a very thankless job,” while indicating he might consider running for Frankfurt mayor, an idea taken seriously by the local CDU.
