Eintracht Frankfurt plans stadium expansion up to 80,000 seats
Eintracht Frankfurt is exploring long-term visions to expand the capacity of Deutsche Bank Park to as many as 80,000 seats. Club board spokesperson Axel Hellmann indicated that two primary models are currently being evaluated.
The first option involves a gradual reconstruction of the existing arena, where individual stands would be decommissioned and replaced with new structures. The second option involves expanding the current building vertically by adding a third tier of seating, similar to the structure used at Barcelona’s Camp Nou or Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.
Separately, the club faces a challenging upcoming match against FSV Mainz 05. Historical statistics show that Eintracht Frankfurt has only won once in 22 away matches against Mainz, with that single victory occurring in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
