Markus Krösche resigns from Eintracht Frankfurt amid AC Milan interest

Markus Krösche has resigned from his position as sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt after five years with the club. The 46-year-old executive, who helped lead the team to a UEFA Europa League title in 2022 and multiple Champions League appearances, announced his departure during an emotional farewell to club members. Krösche stated that he felt he could no longer provide the necessary impact for the club, noting, “I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer do what is best for Eintracht Frankfurt because I lack the necessary drive.”

Following his resignation, reports indicate that AC Milan is advancing negotiations to appoint Krösche as their new Head of Football. While discussions for a move to Italy stalled last summer due to contract complexities and potential compensation fees, the landscape has shifted following his departure from the Bundesliga side. AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale is reportedly heavily involved in the pursuit of the German executive, who has a proven track record at clubs including RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.
