Eisner Awards 2026 crowns DC's Absolute line and Mariko Tamaki

The 38th Eisner Awards were presented at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24, 2026. DC's Absolute imprint dominated, taking Best Limited Series for "Absolute Martian Manhunter" by Deniz Camp and Javier Rodriguez, which also earned Rodriguez the Best Penciller/Inker trophy. The line added Best Ongoing Series for "Absolute Batman" by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, and Best Single Issue for "Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1".

Mariko Tamaki secured her third win as Best Writer, sharing the award with her co‑creator Nicole Goux for "This Place Kills Me", which also captured Best Publication for Teens. The ceremony highlighted the growing diversity among nominees, with Tamaki joining a short list of women ever to win the top writer prize.

Other notable winners included Best Publication for Children’s Books, Best Humor Publication, and Best Adaptation of a Classic, reflecting a broad range of titles across publishers.
