EIT Food promotes regenerative agriculture in Hungary

EIT Food is supporting several initiatives aimed at promoting regenerative and organic farming practices in Hungary. A two-day training program will be held on May 5-6, 2025, in Tápióbicske, Pest County. This program is designed for up to 30 farmers involved in arable, horticultural, or mixed crop and livestock production on at least 30 hectares. The training includes thematic lectures and field visits to farms already implementing regenerative practices, which focus on restoring soil health and biodiversity through techniques such as cover cropping, optimized crop rotation, and livestock integration.

Additionally, the sixth ÖKO Expo Exhibition and Conference will take place in Debrecen on September 9-10, 2025. As part of the event, EIT Food will host a specialized session on September 9 focused on regenerative agriculture. This session aims to present experiences gained through EIT Food's four years of supporting regenerative practices in Hungary, discussing challenges and opportunities for landscape-level interventions, concluding with a roundtable discussion on practical implementation.
