Eğitim Gücü Sen extends action against digital communication pressures

The Education and Science Power Solidarity Union (Eğitim Gücü Sen) has announced that it will extend its union action into the 2026-2027 academic year. The action targets the practice of adding teachers to digital messaging groups, such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and BİP, without their explicit consent.

Under the leadership of General President Oğuz Özat, the union's board decided to oppose the use of personal mobile numbers for official communication. The union argues that being included in unofficial groups makes teachers reachable 24/7, which disrupts their private lives and exposes them to pressure or bullying from parents and students.

Eğitim Gücü Sen maintains that personal phones should not serve as free communication tools for school administrations. The union advocates for all official notifications and administrative orders to be conducted through formal channels, such as e-Okul or institutional email, in accordance with legal regulations.
