Eixo Atlántico seeks mediation for Miño railway bridge
The Eixo Atlántico organization has called upon the President of Portugal to mediate and establish a definitive completion date for the new international railway bridge over the Miño River. During a meeting in Viana do Castelo, Luís Nobre, president of Eixo Atlántico, and Secretary General Xoán Vázquez Mao requested that the Portuguese head of state facilitate a joint public commitment between Spain and Portugal regarding the project's timeline.
Representatives expressed significant concern regarding delays in the high-speed rail line connecting Ferrol and Lisbon, estimating that works are already approximately one year behind schedule. The organization cited a lack of public information from the Ministry of Transport and criticized the insufficient dialogue between infrastructure officials in both nations, warning that poor coordination could jeopardize strategic projects for Galicia and Northern Portugal.
