EJA programs promote integration and education in Brazil

Adult and Youth Education (EJA) programs in Brazil are facilitating social integration and continued learning through various local initiatives.

In Teixeira de Freitas, the EJA School Games were held on September 15 and 16, bringing together municipal students for sports competitions designed to promote socialization and physical activity. The Escola Municipal Genivaldo Bispo secured first place, followed by Escola Municipal São Lourenço in second and Escola Municipal Alcenor Alves Barbosa in third. Riquelvin, from Genivaldo Bispo, was named the top scorer.

In Juazeiro do Norte, elderly students who recently completed the Brasil Alfabetizado Program are transitioning into EJA classes to continue their academic progress. Following the graduation of over 220 senior students in July, the municipal education department is providing ongoing studies across seven municipal schools. The program aims to foster autonomy and lifelong learning, offering various educational segments from primary to middle school levels during evening hours.
