EJAE and Sam Kim marry in Seoul at former family residence

Singer-songwriter EJAE, known for her Grammy-winning work on the Netflix animated film ‘KPop Demon Hunters’, married music producer Sam Kim on October 17 in Seoul, South Korea. The couple held a garden wedding at Stage 28 in Gangdong-gu, a location of deep personal significance as it sits on the former residential site of EJAE’s maternal grandfather, veteran actor Shin Young-kyun.

The ceremony combined modern elegance with Korean traditions, including a ‘paebaek’ ritual to honor their families. EJAE wore a custom tulle gown by designer Danielle Frankel, complemented by heirloom jewelry. The couple had originally planned to marry in California this November but decided to move the ceremony to Korea and advance the date by one month to honor their cultural roots.

EJAE and Sam Kim first met in 2017 during a songwriting session and have been partners for eight years. The wedding was attended by friends and colleagues, including fellow ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ artists Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami. EJAE, a former SM Entertainment trainee, rose to global prominence following the success of the song ‘Golden’, which earned her a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
