Šejla Kamerić to open KRIK 2026 festival in Skopje

The autumn season of the jubilee KRIK 2026 critical culture festival is set to begin on September 18 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje. The event will launch with the opening of the spatial installation ‘AWAKE’ by internationally recognized artist Šejla Kamerić.

Kamerić’s work is noted for its engagement with historical trauma, gender politics, and contemporary social crises. The installation aims to provide an intensive visual and spatial experience that addresses themes of solidarity, memory, and collective responsibility amidst global instability. The festival season is supported by several international organizations, including the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the European Fund for the Balkans, and Pro Peace – North Macedonia.
