Ejura Yam Festival 2026 draws thousands in Ghana

The 2026 Ejura Yam Festival concluded on Friday, October 24, following a 10-day celebration organized by the Ejura Divisional Council. Thousands of attendees gathered at the Ejura Palace to pay homage to Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II and his elders.

The event attracted a diverse group of dignitaries, including Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, various Municipal and District Chief Executives, and Members of Parliament from both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Security leadership from the Ghana Police Service, Prisons Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service, and the Armed Forces were also in attendance.

Several paramount chiefs and traditional leaders participated, including Asante Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, Offinso Manhene Nana Dwamena Akenteng, and Juaben Manhene Daasebre Otuo Serebuo II, among others. During the ceremony, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II expressed gratitude to the supporters and reaffirmed his commitment to preserving Asante cultural practices.
