EKAB coordinates repatriation of critically ill Greek citizen from Turkey
A critically ill Greek citizen has been repatriated from Antalya, Turkey, to Greece via a specialized air ambulance operation coordinated by the EKAB Health Operations Center (KEPY–EKAB).
The patient was being treated in the intensive care unit of Anatolia Lara hospital in Antalya, where they were intubated. The individual suffered from severe hypoxic encephalopathy following a surgical procedure and cardiac arrest.
The repatriation, which took place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, was authorized by the personal approval of the Minister of Health. Following the flight, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit of the KAT General Hospital in Greece, where they remain in serious condition.
