EKAB to hold nationwide life-saving training in Greece

The National Center for Emergency Assistance (EKAB) is organizing a series of open educational events across Greece from October 13 to October 17, 2026, in observance of World Restart a Heart Day.

The initiative aims to teach citizens essential life-saving skills, specifically focusing on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). During these sessions, EKAB rescuers, nurses, and doctors will provide practical demonstrations and allow participants to practice using training mannequins and defibrillators at specialized skill stations.

In addition to technical training, the events will provide information on recognizing and managing life-threatening situations and detail EKAB’s role in providing emergency pre-hospital care. Scheduled activities include training for police officers in Athens, first aid education for primary school students in Thebes and Livadia, and public events in Chania and Heraklion.
