Ekana Stadium flood concerns for India vs West Indies T20I

The first T20I match between India and the West Indies, scheduled for October 6 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, faces potential disruption due to rising water levels in the Gomti River.

Reports indicate that floodwaters from the Gomti River, exacerbated by an overflowing drain near the stadium, have reached the vicinity of the venue. This has caused waterlogging on surrounding roads and led to the closure of a nearby underpass, affecting local movement.

Despite the flooding concerns, Ekana Cricket Stadium management has stated that the match will proceed as scheduled at 7:00 PM. The administration is currently working to drain the accumulated water from the area to ensure the event can take place without impact.
