Ekiti Knowledge Zone project receives environmental safety training
The Ekiti State Government has initiated training for contractors and stakeholders to ensure environmental, social, and safety compliance for the $94.8 million Ekiti Knowledge Zone project. The training, organized by the Ekiti Knowledge Project Implementation Unit, aims to prevent accidents and grievances that could disrupt the construction of this special economic zone.
The project is funded by an $80 million loan from the African Development Bank and $14.8 million in counterpart funding from the Ekiti State Government. Designed to establish the state as a hub for digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge-based services, the development involves the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCEC) and other key stakeholders.
