Ekiti PDP denies supporting Seyi Makinde’s 2027 presidential bid

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding political mobilization in Ekiti State ahead of the 2027 general elections. Some stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) reportedly convened an advocacy program to sensitize members and build grassroots support for the presidential bid of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

However, the Ekiti State chapter of the PDP has officially denied these claims. State chairman Lanre Omolase issued a statement describing reports of a PDP-APM alliance for Makinde’s campaign as “false, fabricated and unauthorised.” Omolase stated that the party has no connection to the APM or any mobilization project for Makinde, accusing the Governor of “treachery” and asserting that the Ekiti PDP will not support his ambitions.
