Ekiti State empowers 100 persons with disabilities with vocational tools
The Ekiti State Government has provided 100 persons with disabilities (PWDs) with vocational tools following their graduation from an intensive training program at the Skills Acquisition Centre in Ado-Ekiti.
The beneficiaries received training in several fields, including Information and Communication Technology (ICT), tailoring, hairdressing, shoemaking, catering, and hospitality. To support their transition into self-reliance and business ownership, the government supplied necessary equipment such as sewing machines, salon tools, shoemaking machines, and ICT hardware.
Representing Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Chief of Staff Oyeniyi Adebayo stated that the initiative is part of an effort toward inclusive governance. The program, organized by the Office of Disability Affairs and the Office of the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, aims to ensure all citizens can contribute to the state's development regardless of physical condition.
